Well, bank one finally fixed my damn account. Good for them. I suppose in their world 24 hours equals about 6 days. But at least they finally fixed it. Oh, another thing. I don't like circuit city anymore. They're the ones pushing DIVX.

Alright, time for the DVD Vs. DIVX discussion. In case you don't know about these technologies, then you're a moron. (i'm just kidding.) That's what this paragraph is for, to educate you on why OPEN DVD rules and DIVX sucks ass. Let me explain. DVD is basically a new VHS. It's Super high quality pictures (almost twice the resolution), Dolby digital sound, perfect freeze frames, etc. Alot closer to the theatre at home. You buy or rent a DVD disk (they rent for 2.99, just like a movie). The great thing is, they don't degrade. You know how a VHS tape gets watched a bunch and you start to get scratchy sound or really crappy video?? That doesn't happen with DVD. It's totally digital. Then you've got DIVX. The way it's supposed to work. "You buy a disk, (for 4.95), and have 48 hours to watch it as much as you want. How does it know you ask?? Well, it's EASY! You plug a phone line into your DIVX player, give it your credit card number, and it verifies it!! So then you can watch it for 48 hours, it cuts off. To watch it again after that, you pay another 3.95. (or, you can buy it unlimited viewing, price not specified on the DIVX site.) But wait, there's more! Not only do you turn over your credit card number to these people, but you get to lose widescreen! that's right, divx is pan-and-scan. You also lose all the things that make DVD cool, such as the added things on a DVD (movie trailers, interviews with the actors, making-of features, etc.) none of those things are on DIVX.

So now that i've gathered all the propaganda from BOTH sides, in order to make an intelligent decision, i've decided to fight DIVX as hard as possible. I hope everyone will make the same decision.
